Said he wanted to go riding tonight

We ended up racing and there isn't any catching that cow pony he is on... notice I am not riding behind him didn't want to be in his dust cloud.

Collecting our winter wood

Boys and I have been cutting down firewood and hauling it up to the house to be split... the boys enjoy splitting the wood to fit our wood cookstove.  The horses sometimes have to pull hard to get the loads home.

Getting the team in shape for fall work

Our mare Abby had a colt a month ago and we couldn't work her 3 months prior due to her pregnancy but we started working the team again today and let her colt run along side her mommy.

The girls had been having a hoot riding their horses thru this little pond so not to be shown up...

Rosie leading her colt behind us to get her use to the noises of chains and cart.

The new earth is manifesting itself!

"The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them."

Well its a good start anyway! The colt enjoys the cat sharpening her claws.

Man's best friend

The kids got me this handy contraption to hold up the horses legs/feet when giving them a trim.  If you are real macho you can cradle the horses leg on your leg and give them their trim but afterwards you walk around all bent over crippled.  Did 5 horses in less than an hour and my back feels fine.

Gave Ellen's colt Annie her 1st trim.

Giving Willie his trim... Annie wants me to do her again
