Hived this swarm in our neighbors orchard

Deciding best course of action

Jed got a little carried away with shaking the branch and knocked my veil askew... he assured me he didn't do it on purpose!

Melons starting really grow now that we have 90 degree heat

Because melons are an arid plant, we only water them for 6 hours once a week which is equal to ~ 1/4 inch of rain

Sweetcorn is doing wonderful in the plastic culture

corn is waist high as of June 6...  the only fertilizer the corn has received was during irrigation thru the fertilizer injector.  We have had a dry May and June isn't  looking much better the irrigation tape under the plastic is saving us water and keeping the corn happy.

You can see the different planting dates in the row heights... started 4 rows of corn every Friday for a month and a half.
